Photos That Make You Go Wow!

I’m a photographer.  If you haven’t figured that out yet, you haven’t spent enough time here. Besides loving to create photographs, I also love to look at the work of other photographers.  Sometimes it’s great, sometimes not so much. When I need to get inspired (and occasionally humbled), I go to the library or visit a gallery or even just surf the web.  Today I thought I’d share a few of the sites I’ve found that have some really cool photographs. First, there’s Photoshop.  I don’t know that I’ll ever have the need to manipulate an image on the level of these ones, but they are definitely some images that made me go “wow” when I looked at them.

Marvelous Manipulations

I enjoy weather.  I did photograph the lightning that accompanies this post.  I’ve seen a couple of small tornadoes (and didn’t have my camera handy, darn it) and once photographed a waterspout.  And I am always photographing clouds and sky.  But none of my weather photos even come close to these ones.

Wow Weather

And don’t these ones just make you wish you had wings?

Amazing Aerials

For those days when I just can’t figure out what to photograph next, here’s some ideas that get my brain going. Clever Creativity

I love getting up close and personal with my photography.  So these ones really inspire me to go buy a new macro lens and get back to work.

Cool Close-Ups

And finally, let’s combine two of the things I love most:  food and photography.  If you’re not hungry now, you will be after you see these images–and don’t say I didn’t warn you.  Your diet is not my fault.

Fabulous Food

So tell me, what websites inspire you?  Photography?  Art?  Food? Nature?  I’m always up for more inspiration.

  1. Seriously, I’m going to start asking for lessons. I also want to know exactly how close you need to get to that insect to photograph it that way??

    1. Thanks, Carol. I was about 2-3 feet away from the grasshopper with a telephoto lens. But I have gotten much closer to them. It just depends on how skittish they are.

  2. omg, what beautiful photo’s you take! i love taking pictures and really need to take some time with my camera… and i need to pick up photoshop… i was “old school” and took photography in college for a few years.. back when we developed our own film… i kept my good old canon ae1 until i could not find film anymore, without difficulty and then jumped to a digital canon.. but you have a great eye!
